Welcome to
The Arts Society Cumbria
Our Society in Cumbria was founded in 1976 and is a member of the national body of The Arts Society (formerly The National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts - NADFAS)
We are a very friendly group, who get together to enjoy monthly illustrated lectures and organise other cultural and social activities. We aim to provide a wide range of lectures, some traditional in content and some more challenging. Above all, we want to offer enjoyment in a convivial environment.
We also encourage and support aesthetic education and the study of the decorative and fine arts.
We have members from all over the north and west of Cumbria and beyond.
We welcome members and guests at our lecture venue (see here) and also through Zoom as we regularly stream many of our lectures. The link for lectures to be viewed on Zoom is sent by email to members one or two days before each lecture. Let us know here if you do not receive the link.
We encourage members to invite friends to attend our Society’s meetings or follow our lectures on Zoom, for a small charge of £9. See our Lectures page for more details.
As well as monthly lectures we arrange outings - including day trips and holidays further afield, special interest days, and social events - see also here for our calendar of events.
