Cookham was the beloved home of Stanley Spencer. It dominated his imagination and was the location for many of his greatest paintings. This lecture looks at Cookham’s place in his art and how it was central to his unique vision of English life.

Lecturer Dr. Amy Lim, a historian by original training with both a Masters from University of Cambridge and Doctorate from Oxford University, researches and publishes as an academic art historian, and lectures for several art and academic institutions. She has curated a number of prominent exhibitions including at the Tate Britain and continues to be a volunteer curator at the Stanley Spencer Gallery in Cookham.
